Bergen and Flam

World Heritage City - BERGEN, NorwayBergen has given a warm welcome to its visitors for more than 900 years. Bergen - the old city with a young outlook. A city with its feet in the sea, its head in the skies and its heart in the right place - full of infectious enthusiasm, and happy to share it with others.
We took a trip to the top of the mountains to experience the majestic view of Bargen and came down by walk. That was also nice. Here is a picture which gives the view of the city from the mountain.

The Bargen Port and Colourful Houses around the Mountain. I liked this place for its cultural heritage and old bars (still kept in that fashion), beautiful church and the houses.

Beautiful Flam is situated in the innermost part of the Aurlandsfjord, a tributary of the 204 kilometres long and up to 1308 metres deep Sognefjord.

Nutshell trip

Norway in Nutshell is The most popular round trip in Norway. Official site is http://www.norwaynutshell.com. Some information has been taken from it.

Norway in a nutshell took us through some of the most beautiful scenery in Norway's fjords. We experienced the scenic Bergen Railway, the breath-taking Flam Railway, the Aurlandsfjord.

The details of Bergen and Flam is in the main blog of Norway. The fjords journey is given here.

Splendid norwegian fjords - now on UNESCOs World Heritage List!Down at the idyllic Flam there is time to eat and to wander around little before continuing your journey by boat. The journey goes out from Aurlandsfjord and into the Naeroyfjord, the narrowest fjord in Europe. The Naeroyfjord is now included on UNESCOs famous World Heritage List. Surrounded by mighty mountains of up to 1,800 metres high, this branch of the Sognefjord is amazingly beautiful. On the journey you have views of the small traditional farms. If you are lucky you will catch sight of the goats which graze along the edge of the fjord or of the seals lying on rocks before the boat moors at Gudvangen.
